This Triple ‘Green’ Certified Water Mansion Is Insane

Acqua Liana is an oceanfront estate in Florida designed by Frank McKinney. The unique, water-themed home has some interesting features such as: an aquarium wet bar, water walls, water floors, waterfalls and lagoons.

Below we will tour this extravagant property and highlight the incredible features and learn how it became the first luxury home to obtain triple “green” certification through the U.S. Green Building Council (LEED Silver), the Florida Green Building Coalition and Energy Star for Homes.

Acqua Liana (Tahitian and Fijian for “water flower”) is set upon 1.6 acres with 150 feet of oceanfront in Manalapan Beach, Florida. There is also an Intracoastal Waterway on the other end of the property with a private dock that can accommodate yachts up to 120 ft.

The home features 7 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and also has a 2-bedroom, 2 bathroom guesthouse for a total of 15,071 square feet of living space.

The Water Mansion

Acqua Liana features a first ever glass “water floor” with hand-painted tiles in a Monet-inspired Lotus garden motif illuminated below the surface. There’s also the 2,000 gallon arched aquarium wet bar with 100 exotic fish (seen in the first picture). Other water features include:

– 24-foot oceanfront sheeting water walls
– 10-foot kitchen and dining water wall
– Oversize garage with sub-surface windows peering into pool
– Meandering and swimable water gardens

Triple ‘Green’ Certified

Acqua Liana is the first ultra-luxury home to obtain triple “green” certification through the U.S. Green Building Council, the Florida Green Building Coalition and Energy Star for Homes. Features include:

– Solar panels, insulative characteristics, environmentally conscious lighting and ultra-high efficient appliances that cut electrical consumption by 60%. On certain days the home is energy neutral
– A system that collects runoff water from the roof and fills the water garden
– Ultra-high efficient air-conditioning and purification systems
– An automated “bio-feedback” system that allows the owner to monitor resource consumption in real time
